The University of Montana Western rodeo team will be hosting the annual Montana Western Big Sky Region Rodeo from Friday, Oct. 1 through Sunday, Oct. 3 at the Beaverhead County Fairgrounds in Dillon, Mont.

Taylor Nahrgang, a 2010 Montana Western graduate, said goodbye to his collegiate rodeo career in fashion capturing the national steer wrestling title at the 62nd College National Finals Rodeo.

The University of Montana Western rodeo team won top honors at the Dawson Community College College Rodeo April 23, 24 and 25. The men’s team currently leads the region while the women are second heading to The University of Montana Rodeo May 7, 8 and 9 in Missoula.

The Copper Springs Ranch (CSR) equine sports medicine team will be featured in the first free speaker presentation of the University of Montana Western Equine Studies Department on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009.

The University of Montana Western rodeo team will compete in the second rodeo of the spring in Helena on Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18 at the Lewis and Clark County Fair Grounds.

Montana Western Rodeo will begin April 2 to 5 at the Montana State University spring rodeo. Ranked first in the Big Sky Region and 13th in the nation, Montana Western Rodeo looks forward to the coming season.

April 3, Keltz Arena on the UMW campus, beginning at 5:30 p.m., the banquet will include a prime rib dinner, auctions and live music.
